“Michael doesn’t know what form the instruction will take, nor what it will tell him to do. He only knows that it is coming, and soon. He has left his flat, packed his things into storage, written a final letter to his mother. He is ready to be called, to be sent, to be summoned. Whatever the instruction tells him to do. When it comes it will be more beautiful than a choir of angels. He has dreamed of it a dozen times and each time forgotten in the moment of waking the form of the final call.”
